Echo R.

Dear Athena,

I’m utterly confused. I’m so handsome, so delectable. I have many talents. I can sing, act, and fix many things. I’m so sweet and romantic to any of my lovers and give them all my respect. I even help my stunning wife out around the house on those blistering nights after the bar when I manage to stumble home. With all my manly qualities, I don’t see why I have so little respect in my community.
I’ll walk down the street and everybody glares. I constantly am getting laughed at; I’m so tired of it. Usually, I come home to my house egged and or toilet papered. The other day I even got wine dumped on me from a bunch of hooligans. After a long day at work who would want to have your house a wreck? I end up just crying myself to sleep. Nobody respects me; even my own mother mocks me. I actually am very great, but no one can see that. I got the worst part in the play for the Duke’s wedding but the director barely notices my I incredible skills.
Is there no cure for this wretched curse? I need to be respect; if I’m not then everyone will always walk all over me! To be successful I need my friends and family’s support, but they won’t ever stop laughing at me! Athena, please, I’m begging you, help me. How do I gain respect?

Sincerely,
Cowardly Lion.

  1. Dear Cowardly Lion,
Your problem is an interesting one, but not uncommon. If i was in your place i would walk around like i owned the place. With this part that you have in the play for the Duke's wedding, who cares if it is the worst part? It's YOUR part. So if you act like you love it, then everyone else will love it. The main thing, is be confident. If your confident about yourself then everyone else will respect you.
    I wish you luck,
    Athena
