Dear Athena,
I have a huge problem. You are the only one I can turn to, for my best friend, we’ll call her the Beauty, is the part of the problem. She obtains the love of the man I love, we’ll call him Batman, but she does not return the feeling. How she cannot love him I don’t have a clue, because he is the noblest man and he’s stolen my heart. Yet he still loves her, even though she throws his love away. She has her own love affair going on and has her own problems she can deal with. Why should I help her if I get nothing in return?
She’s always coming to me saying how horrible it is that she and her love can never be together. Has she ever tried loving someone that will never love her back? I don’t think so. She’s got it easy because now she’s going to run away into the woods then everything will go just peachy. Then my love, which happens to be Beauty’s husband-to-be although she doesn’t it want that, will go searching for her even though he doesn’t truly love her. He just sees that she’s amazingly gorgeous and everyone says I’m just as pretty but not to Batman. No, no, even though he won my heart and told ME he loved ME after he met Beauty I was forgotten, left behind, like I was never there.
Now I’ve been doing ALL I can to win his love but nothing works. It’s as though he’s blind, Beauty loves her own man and wants nothing to do with Batman, he just can’t seem to see reality. Maybe I’m crazy, but I don’t think ANY of this is fair on my part. Beauty is in love with her man Batman loves Beauty and Beauty’s man loves her back. I love Batman, but NOBODY loves me in return. I NEED your advice Athena, you are the only one who can help me at this point, I beg you.
